Chocolate squares with snowflakes - inspired by friends

What you do when you have 4 big square chocolate gingerbread cookies to play with? You get out the stencil you fall in love with months ago but never had time to play with. The stencil has 4 different gorgeous snowflakes and was created by my friend Tammy from 2T's Stencils.

Then I decided to add a little sparkle to my cookie. I got this pixie dust from Joey at Sugar 'n Spice. She loves to add sparkle to her cookies and I decided to follow her this time. Snow sparkles, right? Too bad, that I still can not make pictures that actually show it.

As you can see, these snowflakes are a little small on my 5 inch cookies. I wanted to keep them as the main motif so I decided to frame them. I got some cute plaque cutters from my friends at Cookie Cutter Kingdom. I used them as templates for my frames:

I traced the shapes on the cookie with scribe tool.

I use cookie cutters as templates all the time. And when I have a softer cookie (like my yummy gingerbread) I don't even have to trace it. I just push the cutter on the cookie and I have a nice outline. This cookie was a little harder, so I had to trace it.

It's easy to pipe over the traced line.

Then  I was following the shape with the second line.

And I outlined the second frame with doth. I love this two lines + dots combination. It is easy but it makes a beautiful frame.

This design left my corners a little empty. Also all my snowflakes and frames are different. So I decided to unify the set with the same, simple lace decoration in all corners.

Here is the finished cookie:

Mini Christmas ornaments

You probably remember these ornament shapes from the ornaments with lace or the blue Christmas ornaments. This set was made with the mini version of the same cutters, available at Cookie Cutter Kingdom.

I started with white flood icing for all of them.

Then painted half of the with TruColor Super Red Shine Color an  the rest with Deep Blue Shine.

Then piped some filigree pattern to all of them.

Painted the filigree of the red cookies with TruColor Gold Shine.

Here is the red and gold mini set:

And the blue and white mini ornaments:

Christmas sweater

I got this cool sweater cutter from Cookie Cutter Kingdom and I also have a highly neglected airbrush. So I decided to put them to work. I flooded the cookie with Sugarflair ice blue icing and airbrushed with royal blue. I love this color combination (so you will see more of it in the near future). Then decorated with white royal icing.

3D winter scene - Santa's sleigh

Santa Sleigh by Tunde Dugantsi

I love 3D creations and always wanted to create a Santa's Sleigh. I designed a cutter set and Cookie Cutter Kingdom created it for me. Did you know, that they have a great custom order tool now? If you have a jpg picture of the shape you need, then your cutter is just a few clicks away. I love this tool.

First I baked all the pieces (using the recipe of the 3D hearts): 2 sides, bottom, back, front and the 2+2 reindeer.

Used brown egg yolk glaze to color (see recipe at 3D hearts) all pieces and decorated the pieces using royal icing.

I glued together the open legged reindeer with his closed legged buddy.

Now he has 4 legs.

This way it will be easier to stand him up.

Then I laid one side of the sleigh down and glued the bottom and the back to it.

I added the front panel.

Finally glued the other side on top. My icing dries pretty fast, after 30 minutes I could work on it.

I used bead border to hide the glue and to decorate the top.

I coated a cake board with a layer of icing for base and glued the parts on top. When it dried, I added a few icing lines to connect the deer with the sleigh and each other.

Blue Christmas ornaments

Blue gingerbread Christmas ornaments

This set is almost the same, as the red and green ornaments with lace I posted a few weeks ago, just a little easier, as the lace is white, so it's not painted.

Blue gingerbread Christmas ornaments

I started with ornament shapes of Cookie Cutter Kingdom.

Flooded all cookies white.

And painted the cookies with TruColor airbrush colors Deep Blue Shine and Sky Blue Shine. I love these all natural, bright and shiny colors.

Christmas ornaments with lace

Gingerbread Christmas ornament by Tunde Dugantsi

I decided to create new ornaments for this season. When I was a child we had some fancy shaped glass ornaments, I wanted to create something similar.

I designed these shapes. Cutters are now available at Cookie Cutter Kingdom.

Flooded each cookie with white icing.

And painted them with gorgeous and healthy TruColor colors. I chose Super Red Shine and Holly Green Shine. They come in powder form, I use distilled water to dilute as much as I need.

I wanted to decorate them with golden lace, so I made some yellowish icing. It will look nice with the gold paint.

When the lace was ready I let it dry completely.

Then I painted the lace with TruColor Gold Shine. I love to use this color instead of the "non toxic" gold dusts available on the market.

I still need to learn how to make nice pictures of shiny cookies, but I hope you still like it!

Elegant back to school cookies

Elegant back to school cookies by Tunde Dugantsi

Until now, I had only a basic ABC cutter set, that I did not use very often, as the design is thin and the cookies break easily. Also there is hardly any room to decorate them. But I think adding a few letters to my sets can be fun, so I designed a nice fat set and asked Cookie Cutter Kingdom to print them for me.

I bought a nice script stamp at Hobby Lobby a few months ago thinking what a beautiful background it would make for an elegant cookie. So I decided to try it for this set. I also used the little swirl roses made with TruColor natural food colors earlier this year, with darker green leaves than for my spring designs. To finish the borders and the letters I used CK super gold luster dust diluted in alcohol.

Here is a closer look at the letter A. The alphabet cutters are available at Cookie Cutter Kingdom's website. You can also get 10% off your purchase using coupon code "friendsoftunde".

The plaque cutter is available here. Besides the lettering it has exactly the same design.
