Baby girl dress cookies - the original design

Do you remember the baby girl dress I posted earlier this year?

I designed that shape for Ann Clark, along with the baby romper shape:

Well, not exactly. This is my original design for the baby girl's dress. As the metal cutter making technology has some limitations we needed to alter my original design. While the result is cute and I love it, I just couldn't let go my original design. So, here it is, in 3D printed version. Available in my Etsy store.

And I had to make them blue, with TruColor Spirulina extract. Because blue is not THE boy color and blue happens to be my little girl's favorite color.

Baby girl dress cookies

Baby girl dress cookies decorated by Tunde Dugantsi

If I design baby rompers, I have to have some baby girl dresses too, right? There is so many ways to decorate this little dress! I have to thank Ann Clark for making this awesome cutter for us.

This great purple color is Artisan Accents Deep Purple, one of my new favorite colors. Their whole set is just 10 colors and they mix like a dream. So instead of having hundreds of colors I can just have 10 and make all the colors of the rainbow. Even better, with their new Dilution Solution I can turn any of these colors into airbrush colors.

Back to the baby dresses, I will share these six design with you now. I hope you will create many more and share with me!

Little boy romper cookies

For baby showers we usually decorate some onesie cookies. I was getting a little tired of it. I wanted something different, more cool. So I designed this romper shape and Ann Clark created the awesome cutters.

Of course, I couldn't wait to play with this shape. There are so many ways to dress this little guy! I share these 6 designs with you and I can't wait to see what you will come up with.

Baby cradle cookie

Baby cradle cookie by Tunde Dugantsi

I wanted to create a baby cradle cookie since I have seen this gorgeous baby shower set created by Kenyeres Aniko in February 2014.

My inspiration: baby shower set created by Kenyeres Aniko
But I did not have a cookie cutter to make it and I am way too lazy to hand cut a shape like this. So this project remained a plan until now, when my collaboration with Cookie Cutter Kingdom made it easy for me.

Update: Now, I can print them myself and they are available in my Etsy store.

Baby shower cookie set with gender reveal cookies - video tutorials

Baby shower cookies with gender reveal cookies

I wanted to create some baby shower cookies that look great but are easy and quick to make.

For the visible part of this set I used only 3 icing bags: piping consistency white, flood consistency white and green. But the gender reveal cookies hide an extra color.

We will create this set during our April class at Sweet Wise, more information and registration will be available at their website.

For those who can not join us, I created some videos:

Let's start with the easiest one. You can pick any cute shape and just flood it and make some polka dots inside with wet on wet technique. It's easy, fast and the result is a cute, playful cookie.

For the next cookie I used only dots and teardrops as decoration, but it looks intricate.

When I have some left over royal icing and time, I like to make drop flowers. I can keep them forever and they make the simplest designs look fabulous.

And to finish the set, I made three versions of the rattle gender reveal cookie. Of course the last one is my favorite, as it does rattle!
